About US

Founded in 1854, the Orange Orphan Society is dedicated to addressing the needs of underprivileged children in The Oranges and Maplewood, New Jersey (USA).

Orange Orphan Society funds are administered and distributed solely by its board of trustees, who are local community volunteers. Distributions are made annually in the form of grants to worthy non-profit organizations whose objectives are consistent with the society’s mission. Grantees must provide direct services to children up to age eighteen, who live in the five towns included in the catchment area.

The Orange Orphan Society’s Trustees maintain ongoing contact with grantees to ensure that the funds are being used to accomplish their intended purposes, which may include housing, nutrition, education, physical and emotional health, the arts and recreation.

The Orange Orphan Society is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization.

The society does not solicit donations.
