Grant Process

Applications to the Orange Orphan Society are accepted exclusively from non-profit organizations providing direct services to children from birth to eighteen who reside in Orange, East Orange, South Orange, West Orange and Maplewood, NJ.

Requests from groups serving children who live in other locations will not be considered.

The society considers only a limited number of new requests each year from qualified agencies and organizations.  Eligible nonprofits must first submit a Letter of Inquiry, via email, for review. The Orange Orphan Society will subsequently provide access to the online grant application to groups whose proposed requests meet the requirements.

No correspondence will be accepted via U.S. mail.

To begin the process to determine if a grant proposal meets Orange Orphan Society prerequisites, please send an email to the President of the Orange Orphan Society, Majid Whitney, by contacting us.  He will provide instructions for preparing and submitting the initial Letter of Inquiry.  If your proposed objectives are approved, you will receive instructions for applying for a grant in time for the next grant cycle, which typically have deadlines in early January for distribution by April.
